Dexis provides the first digital X-Ray sensor that can be used in both a horizontal and a vertical position, catching up to three molars in a single exposure. The smoothly-sculpted edges and clipped corners of the Dexis sensor have been carefully designed to improve patient comfort, save positioning time and reduce the need for additional X-Ray image exposures.

Images are captured in 800 x 640 pixel resolution, and are automatically compressed for storage on the hard drive. The digital image is about the size of a normal X-Ray film image and covers a 32-millimeter-by-25.6-millimeter area. The Dexis system includes the sensor (a uniquely-developed CCD), a PCMCIA board to be plugged either into a laptop or into a PC-Card drive in front of a desktop computer, as well as all the integrated software. A set of RINN style holders (horizontal and vertical) as well as bitewing holders are available to assist in positioning.
